BRADFORD Park Avenue goalkeeper Ed Hall was man of the match as Yorkshire kicked off their life as an 'international' team with a 1-1 draw against Ellan Vannin (Isle of Man) at Hemsworth Miners' Welfare.

Yorkshire had an early chance to score when they were awarded a penalty, after Ben Rhodes of Stocksbridge Park Steel was brought down in the ninth minute, but Ossett Town player Sean Ripley's spot-kick was saved by Dean Kearns.

Hall's first save of note came in the 21st minute from a long-range Dan Bell effort, then 12 minutes later he saved well from Ciaran McNulty.

However, he could do nothing to prevent substitute Furo Davies netting from ten yards in the 48th minute, just two minutes after coming on.

Yet Yorkshire were only behind for six minutes as Jordan Coduri (Penistone Church) scored from an accurate chip by skipper Paddy McGuire of Thackley.

The hosts almost went in front in the 56th minute, when Mike Williams went close to scoring an own gaol from a terrific cross by Rich Collier (Hemsworth MW), but Ellan Vannin were pressing for a winner after that.

Davies volleyed a good chance wide in the 75th minute and then forced another superb save out of former Silsden keeper Hall mine minutes later.

Having saved that curling effort, the Avenue stopper was again in action in the 89th minute when saving well from Joey Quayle.
