LEADERS Silsden had Dan Illingworth sent off for a second successive match but still maintained their 100 per cent start to their Hallmark Security League Division One campaign.

The Cobbydalers’ beat Cammell Laird 1907 2-1 but their unblemished winning streak was threatened as Illingworth took exception to a full-blooded challenge just before the hour.

He got to his feet and squared up to the perpetrator, thrusting his head forward and was shown a red card.

The home side were leading 1-0 at that stage after Joe Gaughan had broken the deadlock in the 18th minute with a low shot that curled past Lairds keeper Richie Cowderoy.

The visitors didn’t have a man advantage for long, however as, two minutes after Illingworth’s dismissal, Lairds left back Jay Thomas was red-carded for dangerous play following a high tackle on Matt Moses.

The visitors levelled midway through the second half when Paul Jewell headed home from a corner, but just three minutes later, Mateusz Tomas settled it with a stunning strike.

Liversedge fought back from a half-time deficit to earn a point from a difficult away fixture in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Sedge trailed at the break at Bridlington Town after Brett Agnew’s 23rd-minute opener.

But Sedge’s captain marvel Tom Jackson came to the rescue as he netted the equaliser 13 minutes into the second half.

There was no joy for Sedge’s top-tier rivals as Albion Sports and Thackley both suffered defeats.

Albion’s recent run of three wins and a draw was ended by AFC Mansfield, with the home side enjoying a 4-0 victory.

The hosts, who led 3-0 at the break, did most of the damage via an Oliver Fearon hat-trick after Connor Smythe had broken the deadlock midway though the first half.

Thackley went down 1-0 at home to Staveley Miners' Welfare, with Tyla Bell getting the only goal.

The Dennyboys had put in a better display than in their previous game, which ended with an 8-0 home defeat to promotion-chasing Pontefract Collieries.

Campion gave their bid for promotion from Division One a boost with a 3-0 win at Nostell Miners' Welfare.

Lewis Bradshaw broke the deadlock early, and Jason Carney added a second after just 17 minutes, with Tom Robinson completing the scoring in the second half.

Eccleshill United suffered a surprise home defeat by the same scoreline, with the Eagles having won seven on the trot before the visit of mid-table Winterton Rangers.

Rangers grabbed a lead minutes before the break, and two unanswered second half goals made it a comfortable three-point haul for the visitors, with Lewis Bemrose, Luke Anderson and Elliot Broughton being on target.
