THACKLEY leap-frogged neighbours Albion Sports in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division after the Dennyboys won away while Albion were held to a draw.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s Albion were just inside the top half of the table as they headed to struggling Armthorpe Welfare, and it took them just 12 minutes to open the scoring.

Lewis Morgan had given them that early lead but Welfare took a 2-1 advantage into the interval.

The visitors were back on terms in the 65th minute when Asif Hussain netted but they failed to produce a winner.

At Pontefract Collieries, it was Thackley who found themselves behind to an early goal but Ryan Farrell levelled midway through the first half and Pat McGuire hit another equaliser just before half-time after Ponte had gone ahead for a second time.

The Dennyboys had it all their own way after the break, however, netting three goals without reply.

Andy Wood put them in front for the first time before Farrell made the result safe four minutes from time, with Dan Pett making it a nap hand in stoppage time.

The fight goes on for Liversedge after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Pickering Town, the visitors netting the game's only goal after 18 minutes.

The result leaves Sedge second from bottom, still in the relegation zone but with games in hand on their fellow strugglers.

In Division One, Eccleshill United let a two-goal lead slip at home to Hallam.

The Eagles led 2-0 at the interval after Jermaine Springer and Lee Smith had both profited from good work by the lively Luke Harrop.

Hallam’s comeback began 15 minutes from time when Michael Blythen halved the visitors’ deficit just minutes before Steve Brammer netted the equaliser from the penalty spot.
