THACKLEY will be in good spirits as they head to Retford United in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division tomorrow after finally banking a maximum at Garforth Town.

The Dennyboys were leading 4-0 with 15 minutes to go at Garforth in October but fog descended and the game was abandoned.

Last Tuesday, the clubs met again and, with the game poised at 3-3 in the 81st minute, the floodlights failed but, after a short delay, the match was eventually completed and the Dennyboys won 4-3 thanks to a late Tom Dugdale strike.

Chris Reape’s men are above tomorrow’s hosts and have games in hand on them and, if any further incentive was required, they are looking to avenge a 3-1 defeat at Dennyfield in the reverse fixture in the first month of the season.

Albion Sports travel to Cleethorpes Town, who are fourth, but that won’t intimidate Albion, who came close to beating then-leaders Worksop Town in midweek.

What promised to be a very good Wednesday evening left them feeling like they had lost after Worksop struck in the last minute of time added on to snatch a point in a 1-1 draw.

Rock-bottom Liversedge have home advantage as they look for a win against lower mid-table Athersley Recreation.

Sedge cannot climb out of the bottom two this weekend, even with a victory, but they have games in hand on many of the teams around them.

In the lower tier, Eccleshill United are looking to bounce back from two successive defeats against sides below them in the table after conceding five goals for a second time in midweek.

Following last Saturday’s 5-0 loss at Winterton Rangers, the Eagles were beaten 5-2 at Westella on Wednesday.

They make the short trip to high-flying AFC Emley tomorrow.
