THE wait for what promises to be a keen derby clash could go on as tonight's Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup third-round clash between Thackley and Eccleshill United is in doubt.

Dennyfield has been badly hit by the severe wet weather over the holiday period and yesterday's constant rain.

The tie between Premier Division hosts Thackley and nearest neighbours Eccleshill, who play in Division One, was originally scheduled for December 1.

Silsden are also due to be in knockout action tonight but will be awaiting news from AFC Blackpool ahead of their North West Counties League Men United Cup third-round tie.

This is another fixture to be dogged by the bad weather. The Cobbydalers were drawn at home but, after two failed attempts to stage the tie at the Angel Telecom Stadium, the league's rules state that the tie must be switched to the opponents' ground.

Tonight is the second attempt that Blackpool have made to host the contest and so the fourth time the clubs have prepared for the game.
