THACKLEY face a difficult test at Dennyfield in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division as Cleethorpes Town visit for a second time.

The Lincolnshire outfit are riding high in eighth place, while the Dennyboys are second from bottom.

Cleethorpes won at Dennyfield last term and took four points from Thackley over the season, which was their first in the top tier.

ALBION SPORTS will be licking their wounds when they head to Staveley MW after suffering a 6-3 defeat at Handsworth Parramore in midweek. Kulwinder Sandhu’s men shipped three goals in each half and only put some respectability on the scoreline with two late goals.

They remain sixth but are only four points better off than Staveley, who have played two games fewer.

An Albion win is vital as they look to stay well clear of their visitors.

In Division One, ECCLESHILL UNITED are another club keen to gain a maximum as visitors Glasshoughton Welfare are also within striking distance. The Eagles beat Hall Road Rangers in midweek, edging a seven-goal thriller 4-3, thanks to doubles from Luke Harrop and Adam Turner, which means there is a four-point gap between them and tomorrow’s visitors.

Glasshoughton have a game in hand on their hosts but are on a poor run of form after taking just one point from four games.

LIVERSEDGE have no league game this weekend but they will be the first of the local clubs to compete in the West Riding County Cup this term when they host Pontefract Collieries.

It will be the first of four opening-round ties in the week with Silsden, Farsley Celtic and Eccleshill United all involved on Tuesday night.

Sedge have lost their last five league games and their last cup tie – a 4-1 home defeat in the FA Vase – but Pontefract have won away twice in their last five outings.
