KRISHAN Patel grabbed a hat-trick for Thackley Reserves in their 5-0 pre-season win at Shipley Town, with Luke Robinson and Tristan Innes also on target.
Brighouse Town Reserves began their Lancashire League campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Wetherby Athletic Reserves, with the decisive goal coming after just 16 minutes.
Town assistant boss Barry Thomas said: "Wetherby were well organised and kept their shape very well, especially in defence. We never really got going and our passing wasn't good enough."
In the same competition, Silsden Development drew their opener 2-2 at Pontefract Collieries Reserves after goals by Josh Metcalfe (penalty) and Freddie Midgley.
Silsden manager Paul Evans said: "We recovered from 2-0 behind early in the second half to gain a point and both teams had chances to win the match late on."
