ALBION Sports remain the highest-placed of the Bradford area trio in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division after a 4-1 victory at Maltby Main kept them in ninth spot.

Danny Facey returned to the side following a groin injury and he made a scoring comeback as he netted the 14th-minute opener.

Ten minutes later Ferdinand Annor doubled the visitors' lead with a crisp shot from the edge of the area.

A magnificent third was added just after the half-hour mark as Albion took full control. Brice Tiani started the move deep inside his own half and fed Alex Cusack, whose superb cross was headed in by Matty James, giving him his first goal for the club.

There was less urgency in Albion's play in the second half, although Cusack added the fourth goal with another powerful strike from the edge of the area, before Maltby netted a late consolation through Brian Cusworth.

Albion boss Kulwinder Sandhu said: "At 3-0 at half-time the game was over really. The plus for me was Matty James' goal, which came from a great move, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't keep a clean sheet."

Three days after knocking Liversedge out of the West Riding County Cup, Tadcaster Albion enjoyed another victory over them – this time by a handsome 7-0 in the league at Clayborn.

The leaders got off the mark from a fifth-minute penalty, Carl Stewart netting, and Sedge were soon 2-0 down as Callum Ward scored on the quarter-hour mark.

Stewart added his second in the second half, then former Manchester United and West Brom midfielder Jonathon Greening netted the fourth and his brother Josh the fifth before Josh Barrett and David Brown bagged late goals.

Thackley were thwarted by Saturday morning's incessant rain as their home fixture against Parkgate was one of five Premier Division games to be postponed.

A waterlogged pitch also prevented Eccleshill United seeing any action as their trip to Clipstone in Division One was called off.

Thackley remain 15th in the top-flight, just behind neighbours Sedge, but the postponement cost Eccleshill two places in the lower tier.

The Eagles were right behind second-placed Clipstone but they are now down into fifth position.
