Thackley’s final home game of the season against Pickering Town on Saturday will be preceded by a seven-a-side tournament between squads representing Bradford Disability Football Club and Bolton Wanderers Disability Club.

Prior to the kick-off at 1pm, the Bradford team will be presented with a new kit donated by Thackley sponsors Bradford Specsavers.

The presentation of trophies and medals, discounted by Alpha Awards, will be made by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Kahdim Hussain.

In addition every member of the Bradford squad will be presented with a canvas bag donated by Katrina Trueman of Asda Shipley.

Each bag will contain a bath towel donated by 93-year-old Florence Sykes to celebrate her birthday on Easter Monday.

Thackley chairman Mike Smith felt it would be appropriate to entertain these player in recognition of the work done for Bradford Disability Sport by the Lord Mayor during his term of office.

Smith added: “Our sponsors Specsavers have been excellent and with their help, even though it has all been a little bit last minute, it has turned into a worthy event and we hope people will come along and support it.

“In another month or so, Manchester United Disability Club and Everton Disability Football Club will be playing down here at Dennyfield. We hope the details of that will be released soon.”
