Thackley are looking for a reserve-team manager to take over from Steve Lewis and work alongside first-team managers Lee Clapham and Dave Morgan.

Dennyboys secretary Mick Lodge said: “We need someone to take charge of the reserves, so we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, committed, volunteer reserve-team manager with immediate effect.

"Applicants must be a minimum FA Level Two qualified and available to attend coaching sessions on a Thursday from 7pm-8.30pm, in addition to attending games on Saturdays, and midweek if applicable.”

The position has become available because Lewis is unable to continue due to work commitments.

The club sets high standards for their coaches and managers and has a long tradition of bringing youth players through.

Lodge added: “At the start of the season, all of Steve’s work for his day job was local but he spends a lot of time down south now and it’s become physically impossible for him to do it.

"He’s a nice fellow and he’s done a great job with the young lads, but his paid work has to come first and that’s why we looking for someone to take over.

“Our under-19s, under-17s and reserves all work together to bring players through for the first team. The current senior side is essentially the under-19s side from about five or six seasons ago. They were a good crop - it was almost like Man United’s class of 92!

“While Steve has been working away, Roger Bennett, who is Thackley through and through, has been looking after the under-17s with Lee Robinson and working with first-team managers Lee and Dave to run the under-19’s but they are getting a bit stretched now.

"There are quite a few good, highly-qualified coaches around so we’re hoping one of them comes forward to help us in our hour of need.”

The reserve team plays in the Lancashire Football League East Division, alongside clubs such as Farsley AFC, Harrogate Railway and Stalybridge Celtic.

Applicants interested in the position should e-mail their footballing CV to first-team joint manager Lee Clapham at lee.clapham@bradford.gov.uk or contact him on 07860-555443 for further information.
