Guiseley thwarted by weather

Guiseley’s home fixture against Lee Sinnot’s Altrincham last night was scuppered by the wet weather as Nethermoor failed a pitch inspection.

There was standing water on the playing surface in most area’s due to Monday’s snowfall but an overnight frost added to the problems and left areas that were shaded by the stands frozen.

With more rain and changeable conditions forecast for today, tonight’s two games featuring local semi-professional sides must also be in doubt.

Thackley are scheduled to travel to Hall Road Rangers in the Baris Northern Counties East Premier Division. The Dennyboys have struggled of late, their last home game was postponed, they lost the previous two and were then held to a draw at Tadcaster Albion at the weekend.

Albion Sports will be hoping their game in Division One, at home to Hemsworth MW, gets the go-ahead. Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are chasing promotion and would leap from fourth to second with a win.
