Brighouse Town move to summit
10:50pm Wednesday 12th September 2012 in Silsden By Ian Whiting
Brighouse Town climbed to the top of the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division table with a 3-1 win at basement outfit Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
Town became the first club to reach the 20-point barrier as they leaped from fifth place to the summit after nine games.
They broke the deadlock through Greg Porter on the half-hour mark and Luke Gibson doubled the tally just minutes later to earn a 2-0 interval lead.
Connor Higginson halved the advantage after an hour but Antony Brown restored Town’s two-goal cushion six minutes from time.
Albion Sports and Rossington Main shared the Division One spoils from a 1-1 draw at Horsfall Stadium in a game the home side dominated.
The mid-table Bradford side found themselves a goal behind midway through the first half against the run of play but Alex Cusack earned them a point with an 89th-minute penalty.
There was also a stalemate in the North West Counties League when Silsden were held to a 1-1 draw at home to second-placed Premier Division neighbours Barnoldswick Town.
