A long and arduous campaign is taking its toll on the Cobbydalers and it is going into extra time just when the players and management were looking forward to a rest.
The North West Counties League issued a statement towards the end of the week confirming that tomorrow will not be the end of the season.
Due to the amount of games still to be pencilled in and tomorrow's being under threat from the ongoing wet weather, an extension has been granted.
The Cobbydalers still have two home fixtures to get in. They should have chalked one off yesterday but the visit of Maine Road was postponed for a second time.
Silsden’s secretary and spokesman Jim Rosser said: “Football was cancelled at Keighley Road yesterday and replaced by water polo!”
The mid-table side will not allow themselves to switch off, despite their placing, but Rosser had admitted the previous week that it was draining.
He said: “The players are tired, the management team are tired, the pitch is tired and I’m knackered!
“The close season just can’t come quickly enough now, to be honest. It has been a long haul and everyone is in need of a break.
“It gets to you at this stage and I think everyone has been showing the strain.
“It will be nice to switch off for a couple of weeks.”
