Silsden seek their first win since mid-November at Runcorn Linnets on Saturday in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Both teams should be rested after suffering the frustration of a postponement last weekend.

The Cobbydalers should have been at home to Maine Road, while the Linnets were due to visit Road’s local rivals Flixton, but both games bit the dust because of the bad weather.

Silsden’s last run-out ended in defeat at second-placed Bootle a fortnight ago.

They had injury problems then, with central defender Ben Lamb playing at right back and young keeper Christian Paulat-Brigg between the sticks instead of James Mann (pictured).

Spokesman Jim Rosser said: “Our manager Chris (Reape) has been unfortunate with the injuries but he does have the likes of James Nettleton, Andy Lee and a couple of other very experienced players in the squad, who have helped the young lads coming through.”

Victory for the Cobbydalers, who are 17th, would see them leapfrog their hosts, who are four places higher up the table.
