SILSDEN may have lost last weekend but they go into Saturday's game at Stockport Town in Hallmark Security League Division One looking to defend their 100 per cent start.

The Cobbydalers were hoping to extend their perfect beginning this season to ten games at the weekend but they were beaten 3-0 at West Auckland Town in the Buildbase FA Vase.

However, they will bank a ninth straight league victory if the triumph at Stockport Town.

Danny Forrest’s men are the only side in the division with an unblemished league record, and they will be keen to get back to winning ways to consolidate their place at the summit.

Stockport should be tough opponents, however, as they have climbed to seventh following four wins from their last six league games.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, Albion Sports will be hoping to improve their position as they will leapfrog their visitors Hall Road Rangers with a home win.

The Albion Lions are immediately below Rangers in mid-table but trail by just one point and have a better goal difference.

Liversedge are two places below Albion and they will also be looking to boost their placing with a home win.

Sedge’s visitors Bottesford Town are one point worse off and one place below, despite Jonathan Rimmington’s men having three games in hand.

Thackley complete the top-tier trio and they are away but only face a short trip to Leeds to take on Garforth Town.

Again the sides are one place apart in the table, and the Dennyboys need an away win to overhaul the side immediately above them.

In the lower tier, Campion are a buoyant third as they host last season’s promotion hopefuls AFC Emley.

Campion have won four and drawn one of their last five league games, so are one of the form teams in Division One.

The same can be said of Eccleshill United as they are looking for a sixth league win on the bounce.

That run has lifted the Eagles up to sixth but if they are to win on Saturday at mid-table Ollerton Town, they will have to do it without last season’s double player of the year winner Charlie Flaherty.

Flaherty, who landed the players’ player and supporters’ player awards last term, picked up the first red card of his career in last week’s 3-2 home win over Swallownest and begins a three-match suspension.
