BRIGHOUSE Town consolidated their leadership of Evo-Stik League Division One North last night following a 1-0 victory at fourth-placed Scarborough Athletic.

Town’s Leon Osborne headed the game’s only goal in the 33rd minute after Luke Parkin flicked on a good through ball.

Paul Quinn’s men have a two-point cushion over Farsley Celtic, who climbed to second after also winning last night.

Eccleshill United suffered a surprise defeat at relegation-threatened newcomers Ollerton Town in Division One.

The Eagles created a host of good chances but couldn’t apply the finishing touches, and the home side recorded their first clean sheet and banked only their second win of the season.

Silsden had a third straight league win in the lower tier of the Hallmark Security League as they broke new ground with a first visit to Chadderton. Leon Smith and Josh Eastwood were on target in the 2-1 victory.
