SILSDEN head to Manchester tomorrow to take on mid-table Maine Road and are at their lowest ebb after dropping to the foot of the North West Counties League Premier Division.

A 2-1 defeat at Colne on Easter Monday, coupled with AFC Blackpool's 1-0 win at Squires Gate, left the Cobbydalers propping everyone else up. James Gill's men are now five points from safety with only ten games left.

Maine Road are looking for their tenth home win of the season and have the psychological advantage of beating the Cobbydalers 3-2 at the Angel Telecom Stadium on the opening day of the season.

Following their derby loss at second-placed Colne, Silsden spokesman Kev Knappy said: "We pressed them all the way in a good game against a side that I think is the best in our league.

"The last three games have been demoralising because we have played so well in them all but got no rewards whatsoever. Things just haven't gone for us this season."
