SILSDEN have banked just two points in the North West Counties League Premier Division since mid-October, so they could really do with a fifth league win of the season in James Gill’s third game in charge on Saturday.
Whichever way they are viewed, the stats do not make good reading for the Cobbydalers, and they are second from bottom in the table as they head to sixth-placed Runcorn Town.
Gill is still looking for his first point after overseeing back-to-back defeats since he replaced Ryan Haigh.
His first game in charge ended in defeat with nine men after two red cards, and it was followed by a 3-1 loss at Colne on Tuesday.
A trip to Runcorn, who are three places and ten points worse off than Colne, will be another tough game for Gill and his young squad.
