TWO of the area's semi-professional clubs were thwarted by the elements at the weekend - but considering the wet and changeable wintry weather, it was a surprise that only a pair of games were postponed.
Silsden's home match against Bootle in the North West Counties League Premier Division was called off after an 11am pitch inspection at the Angel Telecom Stadium.
Eccleshill United were also frustrated by a waterlogged pitch. The Eagles should have travelled to Dronfield Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division but heavy overnight rain made it a non-starter.
