IF league form goes out of the window in cup games that could be a bonus for the spectators at The Angel Telecom Stadium tomorrow when Silsden host AFC Blackpool.

The North West Counties League Premier Division rivals, who are both in the bottom four of the top tier, clash in a Men United League Cup third- round tie.

The Cobbydalers are just two points and two places better off than their visitors, and Silsden spokesman Jim Rosser said: “We drew last week at Winsford United in the league but that was another game between two poor sides.

"We’ve got Blackpool in the Men United Cup tomorrow and then Thackley in the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday, so we don’t want to our season to be over in November.

“They are important games for us but we’ve got a young team and it is only when we have a few of the older heads in that we tend to do well. "There have been a few changes as Talent N’dlovu has gone – he’s been loaned out by his parent club Guiseley to Garforth Town.

“Josh McNulty has come back to us but he needs games and, although we believe we’ve got a reasonable side, we do need a striker.

"We need someone who can contribute with a lot of goals and also hold up play for others to feed off.”
