SILSDEN’S return to league action was delayed by last weekend’s postponement but they have another home fixture on Saturday as AFC Liverpool visit the Angel Telecom Stadium.

The Cobbydalers had three consecutive cup ties, progressing in two competitions but exiting the FA Vase, before last Saturday’s North West Counties League Premier Division clash with second-placed 1874 Northwich was washed out.

Tomorrow’s Merseyside visitors are well placed in sixth but, although they are only seven points off the summit, they have played four games more than leaders Colne.

Silsden will be keen to shake off the cobwebs of 11 days without a game and to take heart from their last run out.

Ryan Haigh’s men knocked National League Guiseley out of the West Riding County Cup with a 2-1 win, Joe Mitchell and Nicky McNally scoring the goals on a great night for the Cobbydalers a week last Tuesday.

Silsden go into tomorrow’s league game below the relegation trapdoor but with more than half a season left.
