THERE are two local derbies in the West Riding County Cup second round tonight after FC Halifax Town switched the date and venue of their clash with Farsley Celtic.

The Shaymen had been due to have home advantage against either Farsley or Ossett Town when the draw was made.

Neil Parsley’s Celts won through that first-round tie and accepted the invitation to host National League neighbours Halifax when they raised the possibility of a swap.

Halifax’s league rivals Guiseley are also in action and are on the road as well, making the short journey to play Silsden at the Angel Telecom Stadium.

It will be a third consecutive knock-out fixture for the Cobbydalers after a win in the Men United Cup followed by Saturday’s 4-2 home defeat in the FA Vase.

Lions boss Mark Bower will use the tie to get some game time for the players who have spent time on the bench in recent weeks and also to have a look at some of the club’s academy players in a senior match.

Brighouse Town were due to host Harrogate Town last night but that tie was postponed due to the fog that caused traffic problems and flight delays throughout the day.
