SILSDEN will be seeking a second home victory against a Northern League club in a national knockout competition this season when they host Sunderland RCA in the FA Vase tomorrow.

The Cobbydalers knocked West Allotment Celtic out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win at the Angel Telecom Stadium in August.

Sunderland RCA (Ryhope Community Association to give them their full title) will be hoping to escape the same fate but the home side are primed for the tie.

Spokesman Jim Rosser said: “It’s a big week for us and we have a lot of injuries but the team bounced back with a win last weekend.

“Our biggest worry is that Joe Taylor, the keeper we got in on loan from Fleetwood Town, is ineligible but our regular keeper Danny Thorpe may be back sooner than we thought.

“Danny had an operation and was expected to be out for months but has made great progress and he could be fit in time for the game. We’re all hoping so because we have two important cup games in the next few days.

“We have Sunderland in the Vase tomorrow and Guiseley in the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday, both at home.”
