Lancaster City 2, Farsley Celtic 2

A STOPPAGE-time own goal earned Farsley Celtic a good away point at bogey side Lancaster City in their Evo-Stik League Division One North roses derby.

The Celts had a great start at the Giant Axe ground and were soon in front when Kyle Harrison drilled in from the edge of the area after an early corner was only half-cleared. But the home side hit back with two goals to lead at the interval.

They drew level when Joe Whittington nipped in after a rare mistake from Farsley's experienced centre-back James Riley and the visitors were punished again when they failed clear, which allowed Billy Askrigg to make it 2-1.

It remained a close game but there was a turning point when Jacob Davis of Lancaster was sent off on the hour mark for a high tackle on Celts midfielder Ross Daly.

Neil Parsley's men pressed for an equaliser but, with the home side defending stoically, it took them until injury time to force an equaliser, when Aaron Hardy's cross was turned past his own keeper by Garry Hunter.

Elsewhere it was a poor night for the local clubs in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, although THACKLEY earned a handy point from a tough away game.

The Dennyboys came from a goal down at Pickering Town to draw 1-1. The home side took a tenth-minute lead through James Bennett but a Ben Beckles goal ten minutes before the break was enough for a share of the spoils.

LIVERSEDGE took an early lead at home to Garforth Town but ended up on the wrong end of a six-goal spanking.

Kieran Corley netted early for Sedge before Andy Hawksworth hit back and Mark Simpson added a quick brace before the interval.

Curtly Martin-Wyatt then bagged a second-half brace, with Luke Mangham also on target in a 6-1 win for the visitors.

ALBION SPORTS showed some fight but eventually went down 6-3 at Handsworth Parramore. Sam Bradley, Omar Habib and Brice Tiani were the Sports scorers.

ECCLESHILL UNITED host Hall Road Rangers in Division One tonight and the Eagles will be confident of a home win against their struggling visitors.

There was no better news from the North West Counties League as SILSDEN were beaten 2-0 at home by AFC Darwen, the visitors netting in each half to run out comfortable Premier Division winners.
