BRADFORD Park Avenue were handed an away tie in the north east in the FA Cup second qualifying round draw and will face Consett for the first-ever meeting between the clubs a week on Saturday.

Avenue will be installed as favourites as their hosts, from the Northern League lower tier, are from four steps lower on the football pyramid.

But the artificial surface at the Belle View Stadium will be a leveller – and they will be buoyant after winning through three rounds to reach this stage.

League results have not been going Avenue's way in National North but the performances have been good and Horsfall boss Martin Drury will not allow his side to take the tie lightly, with a place in the third qualifying round and £4,500 in prize money at stake.

THACKLEY face a replay at Abbey Hey tonight as they look to join Avenue in the second qualifying round. The Dennyboys head to the Gorton area of Manchester after the clubs played out a 2-2 draw at Dennyfield on Saturday.

GUISELEY host FC Halifax Town tonight for the first derby between the clubs in the National League.

The sides have clashed in the old Conference North and in cup ties but it will be their first meeting since the Lions won promotion to the top tier of non-League football.

Mark Bower's men go into the game above their neighbours in the table after the Shaymen endured a dreadful start to the campaign.

Halifax took just one point from their first six games but have picked up four from their last three games and a win at Nethermoor would lift them out of the relegation zone.

The Lions are unbeaten in their last three outings and both sides banked a point at the weekend. Guiseley drew against third-placed Woking in an eight-goal thriller, while Neil Aspin's side hit back to draw 1-1 with basement outfit Kidderminster Harriers.

Elsewhere tonight, LIVERSEDGE host Staveley MW in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Sedge are licking their wounds after a heavy 4-0 defeat at home to second-placed Tadcaster Albion and this match gives them a swift opportunity to get that out of their system, although Staveley would leapfrog them with a win.

ALBION SPORTS are looking to bounce back from a 5-1 humbling at the hands of Bridlington Town as they travel to Nostell MW.

SILSDEN travel to the west coast to take on AFC Blackpool in the North West Counties League.

The hosts are looking for the win that would lift them out of the Premier Division relegation zone, while the Cobbydalers are seeking to break into double figures in the points column after Saturday's 2-2 draw left them with nine from six games.
