JOINT-managers Danny Bolton and Ryan Haigh reckon things are picking up at Silsden – despite their FA Cup exit.

After kicking off with a home defeat, the young Cobbydalers squad have found their feet.

Bolton said: "It's been a very positive start; really good from all of the players and their effort has been faultless.

"It's a relatively new side but they are starting to click and we are playing the style of football we want. If we can eradicate the individual errors through coaching and learning, then we won't be far off.

"We are averaging nearly two goals a game but at both ends. It doesn't help when you can't keep a settled side, especially the back four and keeper.

"Kev Ryan missed last weekend because he was at a wedding and Josh Brown has damaged his cruciate ligament. We're waiting for a private scan to see just how bad that is.

"He has done it before but we're hoping this one isn't as bad and he will be out weeks rather than months, fingers crossed.

"Young Lee Guilfoyle has come in this season and done really well, so there have been pluses and minuses."

Silsden have lost just once in the league but after a win in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup, they suffered defeat last week at home to league rivals Padiham – just days after beating the Lancashire club in the league.

Bolton said: "The cup result was very disappointing because we controlled the game when we played in the league.

"In the second game the players may have been a bit complacent, I just don't know.

"We ripped into them a bit at half-time because we had seen a lot that we didn't like in that first 45 minutes. We got a penalty in the second half, which we missed, and you'll never know what might have happened if that had gone in.

"I would have expected the momentum to shift and for us to go on and win it. That's why it was such a frustrating day."
