FARSLEY Celtic were put to the sword in the second half of last night’s friendly at home to neighbours FC Halifax Town.
The Shaymen rested many of their first-team squad players but had trialists who are still hoping to earn a deal with Neil Aspin’s side.
Goals from Connor Hughes and Jordan Burrow gave Halifax an interval lead, before a good strike from Rhys Jenkinson halved the deficit soon after the restart.
But Burrow restored Town’s two-goal advantage, with Sean Tuton and Sam Hillhouse netting later to make it a comfortable 5-1 win for the National League outfit.
Elsewhere, THACKLEY won 2-1 at nearby SILSDEN thanks to goals from Thomas Dugdale and Paul Whiteley.
