THACKLEY face a second Saturday derby in succession in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division as they head to Throstle Nest to take on Albion Sports.

Last week they suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Liversedge and they will be hoping for a better result this time.

Thackley did at least pick up a point from a 1-1 draw at Glasshoughton Welfare in midweek.

Albion won last Saturday and in midweek to climb six places up the table into tenth spot. They have a three-point advantage over their near neighbours with three games in hand.

The Albion boss Kulwinder Sandhu will not allow his players to take anything for granted and will be wary of the derby factor.

Liversedge are set for a tough test at home to Barton Town Old Boys.

The Humberside club are ten places higher than their hosts and have twice as many points.

Sedge are averaging one point per game and at 16th are the lowest placed of the area’s three representatives in the top tier.

Eccleshill United slipped back in Division One when they were beaten at home on Wednesday night.

The Eagles were third but Pontefract Collieries overhauled them after a 3-2 win.

Eccleshill didn’t help their cause by giving away two penalties.

Had they won that midweek encounter they would have been in striking distance of their opponents, leaders AFC Emley.

The clubs have played the same number of games but Emley are five points better off.

Silsden will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive North West Counties Premier Division defeats when they travel to Ashton Athletic.

The Cobbydalers are eighth but they would go level on points with fifth-placed Ashton with a win.
