SILSDEN maintained their bright start to the North West Counties Premier Division season tonight with a second victory.

The Cobbydalers followed Saturday’s 4-1 home win with 4-0 demolition of local rivals Barnoldswick Town. The home side were on top early on but failed to take the chances they created.

They paid a heavy price for their profligacy and an Andy Hill penalty, after Dale Feather had been fouled in the area, put the Cobbydalers ahead. They doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time through Dale Hoyle and second-half goals from Nicky McNally and Feather wrapped up the win.

Elsewhere in friendly action, Brighouse Town beat Nostell MW 3-2, with Tom Matthews scoring the opener and Ernest Boafo adding a brace.

Albion Sports won 2-1 at Otley Town with goals from Thomas Dugdale and Levi Maturine but, despite Liversedge taking the lead at home to Harrogate Railway, they slipped to a 4-1 reverse.
