Friday night special for Boyle & Co
A victory for THACKLEY last weekend meant they were mathematically safe from relegation but head coach John Boyle will not let his players take their trip to Glasshoughton lightly.
The fixture has been moved forward to tomorrow night but Boyle has no absentees because of the unusual Friday kick-off time. That underlines the desire the squad has to make sure the last two games do not just ebb away.
"We are safe and that has made a difference but I'm still looking for six points from a possible six," said Boyle, who is pragmatic enough to realise that is a tall order.
"I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's game, as we haven't played well down the years at Glasshoughton. A week on Saturday we play Winterton, who are champions, so we haven't got things easy to end the season.
"Unfortunately Matt Mathers is unavailable, as he goes away on holiday tomorrow, but Germaine Springer played for the under-19s in midweek after an injury and if he has no reactions from that he would be a natural replacement for Matt."
LIVERSEDGE host struggling Brodsworth on Saturday and will be licking their wounds after a home defeat to Winterton ended their aims of reclaiming the runners-up place.
Sedge boss Steve Newton said: "We were ravaged by injuries on Tuesday and Nicky Boshell had to go off, so we are up against it a bit, but we know we need at least two points from our last two games to stay in the top four, so that is our revised target."
ECCLESHILL end their season on Saturday when Hallam visit Plumpton Park.
Eagles manager Mick Watson said: "We had a good result on Tuesday and that has set us up nicely for our last game of the season.
"Darren Fletcher took a knock in that 2-1 win over Maltby Main, so we will wait until the morning to give him every chance to be fit. It will be a similar squad otherwise."
