CAMPION boosted their hopes of sneaking into the play-off places in Division One of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League with a 4-0 home win over Nostell Miners' Welfare.

James Bicknell’s black and reds rattled in three goals in a 13-minute spell late in the first half to take a firm grip on the game.

Danny Brown broke the deadlock just after the half-hour, Graham Hall added to that soon after and Devonte Morton netted a minute before the break.

It was a good display by Campion as they bounced back from a narrow home defeat to Eccleshill United on Monday night, and it was capped by Brown’s second of the evening just six minutes into the second half.

The red and blacks host mid-table Dronfield Town at the weekend and then travel to ninth-placed Selby Town on Tuesday.

The Robins lost the West Riding County Cup final against Farsley Celtic this Tuesday but they have six league games in hand on Bicknell’s men and could leapfrog Campion in the battle for a play-off place.

In the Premier DivisionLiversedge chalked another fixture off and chalked up another point as they drew 2-2 at Staveley Miners' Welfare.

Josh Madin netted Staveley’s leveller and Andy McCreadie put them in front for the first time when he struck ten minutes from time.

Sedge snatched a point in dramatic circumstances as Kristijan Boskovski grabbed a last-gasp equaliser.
