Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division: Albion Sports 0 Liversedge 3
LIVERSEDGE romped home in last night’s Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division derby to stay ahead of rivals Albion Sports in lower mid-table.
Both clubs were riding high last season but have failed to make their mark this term.
Albion missed a good opportunity to break the deadlock early and paid the price as the visitors took a 34th-minute lead through Andy Wood.
That was the only goal of the first half but Joe Hitch doubled Sedge’s advantage midway through the second half, and Rhys Davies netted a penalty three minutes from time to put the cherry on the cake.
Albion Sports were looking to leapfrog their neighbours but the win for Liversedge saw Jonathon Rimmington’s men open up a four-point gap between the clubs and they still have three games in hand.
