LIVERSEDGE Boss Jonathan Rimmington insists that his side will pull out of their mid-season blip soon.

The manager is actively looking for a striker as he feels a lack of goals has contributed to their recent poor run.

Sedge had lost eight of their previous nine fixtures before last Saturday 2-2 draw at Albion Sports. which ended a run of four defeats.

After the game Rimmington said: “We were flying at the start of the season but we’ve got no strikers. I’ve put seven days in for young Devonte (Morton playing for Albion on loan from Guiseley) and you can see why from this game – he should have had three against us.

“Albion could have been out of sight by half-time but it just shows what happens when you don’t take your chances. We could have won a game that we didn’t deserve to win but then we made a bad error by not sticking with Karl Hall, he’s a class player and you can’t give him a yard of space.”

Sedge are still in a healthy seventh place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division despite recent results, and Rimmington’s reservations, they have plundered 58 goals in 21 games.

Rimmington said: “We’ve got goals in us and the two wide lads have been absolutely amazing.

“Steve Wales and Rhys Davies have scored plenty and young Vaughan (Redford) has weighed in.

“ He’s not a forward really he plays a bit deeper but he certainly knows where the net is.

“We’ve also got Harrison Blakey, he’s the former Yorkshire cricketer Richard Blakey’s lad but his sport’s football and he’s good at it.

“The trouble is that we’re not getting enough games out of our better players because of long term injuries and little knocks here and there. We can’t get our best eleven or even a regular eleven so we’ve got no continuity.”
