LIVERSEDGE are still propping up the rest in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division but they are three games unbeaten and well on the way to what the club are describing as ‘The Great Escape’ as they look to climb out of the relegation places.

Sedge have had two wins and a draw and are now just three points behind second-from-bottom Nostell, and have seven games in hand on them!

Sedge are on the road tomorrow, heading to mid-table Maltby Main, who played out a goalless draw with relegation- threatened Brigg Town on Wednesday.

Top-tier neighbours Thackley have also been in good form recently but they will be looking to bounce back from a defeat when they host Staveley MW, who were beaten 6-2 at home by new leaders Handsworth Parramore on Wednesday.

The Dennyboys also lost at home in midweek – 2-1 to Worksop Town, a result that lifted the visitors to fourth. Thackley will be aiming to avenge a 3-0 defeat at Staveley in October.

Eccleshill United have also picked up recently, and go into the weekend after back-to-back wins.

The Eagles beat Knaresborough Town at home last Saturday and followed it up with a 4-2 win at Dronfield Town.

They face a tough task tomorrow, when they make the journey to second-placed AFC Mansfield.

The home side have a three-point cushion and games in hand on third-placed Bottesford Town but trail leaders Hemsworth MW by 14 points.
