THACKLEY start the 2015-16 season with a home game as they kick off against Barton Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

The Dennyboys looked in a perilous position around the turn of the year but, after Chris Reape and Paul Clayton were handed the reins, their season was rescued and they finished mid-table in the Premier Division.

Reape and his assistant have tweaked the squad for their first full season in charge and expectations are high ahead of their opening league game against a Barton side who finished fifth last term.

Neighbours Liversedge have had a much busier summer following a change of manager. Last season's boss Alan Colquhoun stepped down due to work and other commitments and Jonathan Rimmington was installed.

They have new committee personnel on board and a new chairman in their former player Leigh Bromby. After learning his trade at Clayborn, Bromby went on the play for Leeds United and both Sheffield clubs.

Danny Cooper, another former player who has joined the committee, said: "I think it will take Jonathan a couple of months to settle in – but he has brought some very skilful young players to the club and we're all looking forward to the new season."

Sedge start with a road trip as they head to promoted Clipstone, who won last term's Division One title.

Cooper said: "The squad that Jonathan has put together certainly looks capable and we're hoping for something better than the relegation battle we have been fighting for the last two or three years."

Albion Sports were the highest finishers of the three local representatives in the top tier and they will be keen to get off to a good start this time around.

They travel to Retford United, who finished second bottom last campaign but were spared relegation by a restructuring of the divisions.

Eccleshill United face NCE League newcomers Westella VIP in their opening Division One fixture. Westella are another club from Barton and share a ground with Thackley's opponents Town.

Silsden begin with a home game in the North West Counties League against last season's Premier Division rivals Maine Road.

The Cobbydalers' pre-season form was erratic but joint-managers Danny Bolton and Ryan Haigh have seen enough to be quietly confident of another good campaign.
