BRADFORD PARK AVENUE enjoyed a comfortable win in their second friendly as they won 6-0 at Northern Counties East Division One outfit Yorkshire Amateurs.

Adam Clayton opened the scoring with trialist George Grayson and Richard Marshall also on target in the first half. James Walshaw netted a penalty, after being brought down himself, before a brace from Michael Potts wrapped up the scoring.

Avenue boss Martin Drury said, "It was a good win and it was good for the lads to get more minutes under their belts.

"We got into the game after 15 to 20 minutes - Ammers started well and pressed us up the pitch in the early stages. Once we got moving the ball about well with one and two-touch football we gained more possession but it was no easy task."

Avenue again played different sides before and after the break but will look to get more settled sides in their next two friendly fixtures, against Farsley Celtic and FC Halifax Town.

The Shaymen also won against NCE League opposition on Saturday, beating Premier Division hosts Tadcaster Albion 2-0. Goals either side of the interval from Sean Tuton and Dan Hattersley saw Halifax through.

LIVERSEDGE were 4-1 winners against Maine Road in new manager Jonathan Rimmington's first home game. A brace from Devan McIntosh and further goals from Vaughan Redford and skipper Tom Jackson sealed the victory.

ALBION SPORTS beat Leeds City 4-0 in their' opening friendly and new signings Danny Cunningham and Marcus Edwards were both on target while substitute Omar Habib bagged a second half brace.

BRIGHOUSE TOWN had a 7-1 home derby win over ECCLESHILL UNITED on Friday night.

The Eagles started well but Town soon snatched control and led 4-0 at the break thanks to goals from debutants Tom Robinson (2) and Steve Hollingworth and skipper Leon Henry.

After the break Ernest Boafo (2) and Marcus Edwards netted further goals. Jarad Peltier scored for the Eagles.
