Bradford Park Avenue play their second pre-season friendly tonight, and their first away from home, as they head to Tadcaster Albion.

Avenue’s first match action saw them beaten 2-0 at home by Doncaster Rovers last Wednesday.

John Deacey’s new signings, including Joe Colbeck and Scott Kerr, made their debuts in what was a promising display.

They are all expected to be in the squad for tonight’s trip to Taddy, who finished as runners-up behind Brighouse Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division last term.

Brighouse are also in action. The new Evo-Stik Division One North outfit host Conference North neighbours Guiseley.

It will be a third friendly for both Town and the Lions, who were beaten 3-0 by Bradford City last Saturday.

Thackley play their second pre-season fixture as they host Colne at Dennyfield. The Dennyboys went down 2-0 at Durham City at the weekend in their first run-out.

Guiseley’s home pre-season friendly against Leeds United on Saturday is an all-ticket game, and the Lions have around 300 of their allocation remaining.

They will be on sale at Nethermoor today from 100am until 3pm and then tomorrow between noon and 6pm. Guiseley season tickets are valid for the game and holders can turn up on the day.

Match-ticket prices are £12 for adults, concessions £7, 12 to 16 year olds £4.

Liversedge chairman Steve Newton has stepped down from the role and the club are looking for a new man to come in before the start of the new season.

A club spokesman said: “It gives someone the chance to take over the mantle at a well-established club.

“Steve is still heavily involved at Sedge but we are looking for someone with financial input. Pre-season is going well and there will be an announcement shortly regarding friendly games.”
