Brighouse Town hope to boost their title bid tomorrow as they welcome eighth-placed Athersley Recreation in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Third-placed Town are nine points off top spot after being held to a draw in Tuesday’s derby at Thackley but they have five games in hand on leaders Tadcaster Albion.

Thackley are also at home as they host Glasshoughton Welfare. The Dennyboys have dropped to 12th but they are only five points off fifth spot in a congested top half of the table.

Glasshoughton are only four places lower but trail their Bradford opponents by 21 points, highlighting the gulf between the clubs.

Albion Sports host Bridlington Town hoping to build some momentum. Like Thackley, they have stumbled of late but they got back to winning ways with a midweek success at basement outfit Lincoln Moorlands.

Liversedge will be involved in a battle of the strugglers as they journey to Parkgate. There are only three clubs below Sedge but they should be safe and would move within two points of Parkgate with a win and still have a game in hand.

In Division One Eccleshill United still have promotion aims but they have had a mixed week. Head coach Lee Duxbury (pictured) was delighted as his side beat leaders Bottesford Town 3-0 last weekend but they lost 4-0 on Tuesday at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, who went above them.

Tomorrow the Eagles host second-placed Cleethorpes Town, who would go top with a win if leaders Bottesford lose.
