Steeton complete their pre-season on Sunday (3pm) with a prestigious friendly against a Burnley Vintage Clarets XI.

The Clarets team have named a star-studded line-up for the Michael Emsley Trophy. Admission is £5 for adults, £2 for under-16s and free for under-fives, and proceeds will help towards Steeton’s ground improvements.

Following their promotion to the West Riding County Amateur Premier Division, it has been a busy pre-season for the Keighley club.

They have lost a couple of players to local rivals Silsden in Arley Barnes and Ben Lamb, while last season’s leading goalscorer Lee Reilly has also featured for the Cobbydalers. Matty Moore has joined Eccleshill United.

But, despite interest from clubs higher up the pyramid, the Chevrons have kept hold off Jimmy Christian, Graham Holmes (pictured), Andy Holden and Michael Rhodes.

They have also signed Tom Day (a goalkeeper from Ardsley Celtic), James Bailey, Dave Alderson, Martin Maude and Joe Blacka.

Clarets squad: Chris Brass, Andy Farrell, Ashley Hoskin, John Mullen, Roger Eli, Paul Atkinson, Liam Robinson, Chris Pearce, Chris Scott, Paul Scott, Craig Mawson, Gerry Harrison, Graham Lancashire, Ian Britton, John Francis, Jonathan Irvine, Lenny Johnrose, Robbie Painter.
