SALTS' West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division title triumph has yet to be confirmed due to an appeal by Golcar United.

The Huddersfield side trail the Saltaire leaders – who have finished their league campaign – by five points and have only one game left to play at Wakefield City on Wednesday.

However, Golcar have lodged an appeal against Littletown playing an ineligible player in their two games against them, which Littletown won 4-0 and 1-0.

The League management committee hope to make a decision by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Britannia Sports have resigned from the League. As they have completed more than 75 per cent of their fixtures, their remaining opponents have, under FA standard code of rules, been awarded three points.

The bad weather during February and March has taken its toll with many teams having to play catch-up now, resulting in them playing up to three or four games a week.

Campion have had to rely on many of their under-21s to get them through four games in six days.

After losing 2-1 in the Bradford FA Cup final to Wibsey, they then lost by the same scoreline at home to Golcar United 48 hours later, then slipped up again at home to last season's champions Lower Hopton, losing 3-2.

However, they then found their legs again within 24 hours to beat Wakefield City 7-0 with three goals from Maldini Nyandro, supported by others from Nick Emmott, Phillip Coates, Ross Kelly and Jordan Hagyard.

Steeton lifted the Keighley and District FA Challenge Cup at Silsden FC when Graham Holmes equalised following a Josh Metcalfe goal for opponents Silsden White Star before Holmes grabbed an extra-time winner.

Salts Reserves, despite losing 7-5 to West Horton in their final match, finished runners-up in Division One behind champions Ovenden West Riding.

The semi-finals of the Premier Division Cup will be played this week.

On Wednesday (7pm) Campion and Lower Hopton will meet at Littletown’s ground at Beck Lane, Heckmondwike.

The day after, Steeton and Route One Rovers go head to head at Campion (7.30pm), with the final scheduled at Brighouse Town on Friday, May 18 (7.30pm).
