AFTER three weeks of league inactivity, the West Riding County Amateur League finally completed a full fixture list, and Premier Division leaders Salts increased their lead over second-placed Route One Rovers to seven points.

Salts visited last season's champions Lower Hopton, who played their part on a heavy pitch but were beaten 2-0 by a goal in each half from Joe Pleasance and Jonny Cunnington.

Rovers, with two first-half goals by Haseeb Ahmed, were on their way to three points at Wibsey, only for second-half strikes from Lee Smith and Jordan Northin to level the score at 2-2 and deny them victory.

Steeton and Campion were evenly matched, and only a goal from Andy Briggs in the second half gave Steeton a 1-0 success.

Littletown went to 'town' at Wakefield City and, with Joe Jagger and Mat Bug netting trebles, Aiden Schofield a brace and singles from Rob Bordman and Morgan East, won 10-1, with Littletown’s Luke Griffiths getting an own goal for Wakefield's consolation.

Ovenden West Riding extended their unbeaten run in Division One to 13 games with a 3-2 home win over Golcar United Reserves, with striker John Booth taking his tally of goals for the season to 60, with a hat-trick.

Salts Reserves, who have only lost one game in the league this season, beat bottom-placed Bradford 3-1, with Rob Barraclough, Andy Saddowskyj and Oliver Hume on target for Salts.

Hunsworth continue to struggle and have failed to pick up any points since the turn of the year, with their latest setback being a 4-0 defeat at Tingley Athletic.

The West Horton v Steeton Reserves match was abandoned after referee Jerry Illingworth suffered a heart attack.

Mark McGee and Andy Foster performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (cpr) on the official before the paramedics arrived.

He has had a stent fitted and been transferred to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
