STEETON travelled to Huddersfield with the intention of denting the 100 per cent Premier Division start of Golcar United in the West Riding County Amateur League.

The visitors matched the hosts for effort but lacked finish as Callum Meade (2), Craig Cartwright and Ben Burnett gave Golcar a 4-0 victory and extended their unbeaten record to five league games.

Littletown kicked off their home fixtures with a 4-2 defeat against top-flight newcomers Route One Rovers.

Two first-half strikes from Joe Jagger put Littletown on their way, only for Rovers – with two second-half goals from Waheed Khan and one each from Awais Khan and Hasan Ali – to outscore them.

Both Thornton United and Wibsey posted 4-3 victories.

Thornton had Jason Bland, Brendan Maltby, Emmott Parr-Gallagher and Luke Hepton on target in their home victory over Lepton Highlanders, while Daniel O'Donnell (3) and Lee Smith netted for Wibsey at DRAM Community.

Salts, who outclassed opponents Lower Hopton 10-3 victory in their league encounter in mid-August, came up against a revitalised Mirfield-based side in the first round of the Premier Division Cup.

A treble from Liam Royal was complemented by one goal each from Tom Haigh and Adam Brown in a 5-1 win, with Harry Naylor netting a second-half consolation for Salts.

Steeton Reserves led the goalfest, with Will Knight netting six in his side's 12-5 home win over TVR United.

Salts Reserves had two goals from Oliver Hulme to add to others from Adam Sadowskj, Jordan Lazenby, Ryan Boguslawski, Haden Hartley and Sammy Humm as they beat visitors Bradford FC 7-0.

Leaders Ovenden West Riding made it five consecutive wins with a 6-1 verdict at Overthorpe SC, with striker John Booth netting three times to take his tally to 17 so far.

Hunsworth started their home games at their newly-developed East Bierley ground but failed to find the net as visitors Golcar United Reserves returned home with a 2-0 victory, while West Horton and Unita shared six goals in a 3-3 draw.
