Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup semi-final: Campion Reserves 1 Campion 1
(Campion won 4-1 on penalties)
THE second of this season's semi-finals between two teams from the same club was no friendly affair.
The reserves dominated the first half and deservedly took a 1-0 half-time advantage through Sadio Barry and, while the senior side had the better of the second period, it took a deflection off a defender to level the scoreline.
The first team then won the penalty shoot-out 4-1 to reach the final against Field on Monday, April 18 at Eccleshill United.
Field, holders for the past two seasons, beat Salts 2-1 at Eccleshill in their semi-final.
Jonny Cunningham gave Salts an early advantage, only for Fields to equalise through Nick Doherty midway through the first half.
The second half was evenly contested and, with a penalty shoot-out looking likely, an 89th-minute free-kick awarded to Field was smashed home from 25 yards by Mick Wood to send the holders through.
