OVERNIGHT frost on Friday night into Saturday morning turned many of the grounds that were recovering from being waterlogged into skating rinks, causing yet another round of postponements.

Steeton, who have not played a competitive games since before Christmas, switched their Taylors Timber Premier Division home game against bottom-placed Hunsworth to the 4G facilities at Keighley’s Greenhead Academy.

The move certainly proved beneficial as Steeton won 7-1, with Lee Reilly and Lee Thompson scoring two goals each.

That complemented strikes from Andrew Briggs, Graham Holmes, and Dec Consoli, while Courtney Marsh netted a consolation for Hunsworth.

The only other two league games played were in Division Two, where Thornton United extended their run of successive victories in all competitions to nine, with a 8-3 home victory over Littletown Reserves.

John Selby and Danny Cunningham both netted a brace, adding to goals from Jamie Bairstow, Danny Walker, Cameron Nelson and Delroy White.

Bradford FC claimed a 3-1 home win over Salts Reserves as Iteak Hussain scored twice and Steven Royston also got on the scoresheet.

Salts, with goals from Jonny Cunningham (2), Ryan Gill and Kyle Berry, booked their place in the last four of the Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup with a 4-1 victory over West Horton, for who Kamran Khan netted a consolation.

Route One Rovers had their hopes of progress in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy thwarted, when after sharing eight goals after ninety minutes with Honley FC, they lost 4-1 on penalties.

Golcar United Reserves booked their spot in round five with a narrow 1-0 win over Beeston St Antony’s Reserves.

Huddersfield YMCA made sure of a last eight spot in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup, after beating Ealandians 4-0, with Daniel Naidole netting three and Wayne Shooter the fourth.
