WYKE Wanderers have recorded their first win of the season in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division following a 3-2 success at Robin Hood Athletic.

Both sides were well matched in the first half but Wyke opened the scoring with a Cameron Day tap-in.

Ian Horrocks increased their lead when he beat two players before slotting the ball home, but Robin Hood pulled a goal back before Wyke restored their two-goal advantage when Horrocks netted a 20-yard chip.

Athletic pulled another goal back with the last kick, and Wyke secretary Dave Ryan said: "Craig Sheridan had a fine game for us and our goalkeeper Ben Sharp also played very well."

Field are now the only unbeaten team following their 3-0 win against Carlton Athletic, Chris Wood netting twice and Alex O'Keefe completed the scoring.

Even though Carlton had a player sent off, Field manager Steve Vickers said: "We played really well and dominated."

Baildon Trinity Athletic extended their unbeaten run in Division One to four matches after their 2-2 draw at home to Boroughbridge.

Athletic's Louis France capitalised on a one-on-one to make the score 1-0 after 20 minutes, and Lee Mathers increased the lead ten minutes later after a through ball from Lee Rands.

However, Boroughbridge scored twice in the opening 11 minutes of the second half, and Baildon goalkeeper Mick Haran had to make some fine saves to gain them a justified share of the points.

Field Reserves romped to a 13-1 win in Alliance Division One at Headingley Reserves.

Goalscorers for the winners were Tom Ponter (3), Jack Webster (3), Kieran Suddards (2), Christopher Waters (2), Ben Baker (2) and Matthew Hartley.

Meanwhile, Wyke Wanderers Reserves emulated their first team by breaking their seasonal duck, also by 3-2 at home to Pool Reserves.

Hoi Pin Truong gave Wyke an early lead and Gary Lupton's fierce shot increased it before Pool halved the deficit.

However, Wanderers' Joe Sagar netted before Pool again hit back.

Lupton had a good game for Wyke, while young Lewis Carney is looking more assured with every game.
