SECOND-placed Field needed a goal in added time to salvage a point at Horbury Town in a West Yorkshire League Premier Division match in which both teams had a man sent off.

A good Aidan Day header put Field ahead, only for Horbury to equalise immediately.

The hosts went 2-1 in front before the dismissals – Darryl Leach got his marching orders for Field – but the visitors' substitute Ryan Canning bagged a draw with a late goal.

Field consolidated their second place in midweek with a 2-0 win at Brighouse Old Boys.

Assistant manager Barry Dunne said of Field: "We dominated from the start, with Nick Doherty opening the scoring after 15 minutes.

"We created chance after chance but failed to convert them before Chris Wood made the game safe with 20 minutes to go."

Meanwhile, Wyke Wanderers are still looking for their first win in their inaugural season in the top flight after they lost 3-1 at home to Shelley in midweek.

Sam Digby scored the goal for Wyke, who also had Kurt Pendlebury dismissed for two yellow cards.

On Saturday, Baildon Trinity Athletic went to Thornhill with only three recognised first-team players in Division One, but came away with a 2-2 draw.

Lee Newall crossed for Louis France to put Baildon in front, and Harry Bates put them 2-0 ahead with a stunning 40-yard volley.

But Thornhill grabbed a goal back before equalising with five minutes left. Stand-in goalkeeper Mick Haran was man of the match for Trinity.

Field Reserves thrashed Boroughbridge Reserves 7-0 in Alliance Division One.

Liam Lambert led the way with a hat-trick, with Jack Webster (2), Ben Baker and Matthew Hartley getting the other goals.
