The Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League's hopes of progressing in the FA Inter-League Cup were foiled at the first hurdle when they lost 4-2 to the Cheshire League at Knutsford FC.

The visitors went behind to an early goal from Ben Slater but levelled through Ely Hey (Halifax Irish) before half-time and took the lead with a second-half penalty by Scott Eastwood (Ovenden West Riding).

However, the hosts levelled through Ebbie Rezayan and secured their place in round two with quick strikes by George Burgess and David Owens.

In a truncated league programme, Premier Division Salts officially opened their new facilities at Salts Sports Ground, but were unable to extend the celebrations on to the playing field as Golcar United won 2-0 thanks to a Callum Meade double.

Hunsworth remain rooted to the foot of the table without a point after seven games after losing 4-0 at home to Littletown.

Dudley Hill Rangers, who picked up their first points of the season with a 3-2 victory over Hunsworth in midweek, failed to build on their success and were beaten 8-1 at Mirfield-based Lower Hopton.

Steeton Reserves had Greig Hudson and Graham Holmes on target as they accounted for Wakefield City 2-0. Carl Trenner scored a second-half goal for Campion Reserves as they beat Wibsey 1-0 in the first round of the Division One League Cup.

There were an astonishing 32 goals scored in four games in Division Two.

Thornton United, who had won their opening three games, were brought down to earth when TVR United, who moved up from the Spen Valley League at the end of last season, won 5-2 with Asif Iqbal netting four.

Salts Reserves travelled to Littletown Reserves and came away with a 9-1 victory, James Budell finding the net four times to add to Ryan Whitfield and Mat Humm doubles and a Nathan Hartley strike.

Route One Rovers were 4-1 winners at Ovenden West Riding Reserves, while Bradford picked up their first victory of the season with a 8-2 home success over Lower Hopton Reserves.
