Salts continue their county cup and trophy quest on Saturday as local amateur sides hope the new year brings more favourable weather to help them catch up on backlogs.

Their first team host West Yorkshire League Division One side Whitkirk Wanderers in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup at their temporary base at Marley in Keighley, with a place in the last eight up for grabs.

Also seeking a quarter-final spot are Salts reserves, who also have home advantage against West Yorkshire Alliance Division One side Hunslet Club reserves in the County Trophy. Both games kick off at 1pm.

The top game locally in the West Riding County Amateur League is the Premier Division clash at Manningham Mills between Campion and unbeaten leaders Golcar United.

Having lost 2-0 to Golcar in October, Campion will be looking to avenge that defeat and be the first side to upset Golcar’s perfect start. Neither side have played a league game since November due to the weather, though Campion had two cup ties during December. Steeton will be looking to put distance between themselves and the relegation area when they travel to East Bierley to meet strugglers Hunsworth.

Tyersal, who are five points adrift at the foot of the table, host Halifax Irish at Arkwright Street (1pm).
