Ovenden West Riding were pushed all the way by Wakefield-based Stanley United before running out 6-3 winners after extra time.

Jordan Coduri (2), Andy Gregory, Robbie Graham, Hayden Kerris and an own goal made up the Halifax side's tally, while Ashley Mynton netted all three of the visitors' replies.

Lower Hopton, 6-0 winners at Rothwell, Storthes Hall, 5-1 victors over fellow Premier Division side Littletown, Golcar United, who beat Lepton Highlanders 2-0, and Thornes, with a 2-0 home win over North East Leeds, also progressed.

Among the unfortunate sides were Bay Athletic, who were beaten by 2-1 at home by Leeds City, Hunsworth, who slipped up 4-0 at Beeston St Anthony's, Wibsey, who lost 2-0 to second-half goals at Humber Premier League side Goole United, Ventus-Yeadon Celtic, who went down 2-1 at Pool, and Campion Reserves, who bowed out 4-0 at 2013 winners Rimington.

In the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy, Salts Reserves had a 6-3 home win over Middleton Park Reserves, with Richard Magson claiming a hat-trick for the winners.

Honley and Gildersome Spurs Old Boys also logged victories to progress to the second round.

Honley beat AFC Headingley Reserves 5-1, while Gildersome won 3-2 against Prince of Wales (Ossett).

Only one league games was played – in Division One, where Wakefield City moved up to second place after beating Storthes Hall Reserves 7-0.
