WITH the early-season midweek games behind them, the surprise Premier Division leaders in the West Riding County Amateur League are Golcar United.
After five games, they are the only side with a perfect start, and on Saturday Salts, who lost 3-1 at Halifax Irish on Wednesday, are bidding to stop the Huddersfield-based side from increasing their winning start.
Steeton, who gained their first point with a late Lee Reilly penalty in a 4-4 draw with Storthes Hall last Saturday, entertain Littletown, who have lost their five opening fixtures.
Tyersal, beaten 3-2 at home by Hunsworth in midweek, travel to Storthes Hall, while Hunsworth are at second-placed Bay Athletic. Campion are without a fixture.
Wednesday's results – Premier Division: Bay Athletic 0, Golcar United 1 (D Wareham); Campion 1 (S Hollingworth), Ovenden WR 2 (D Randall, o.g); Halifax Irish 3 (J Irving, C Meade, G Sherwood), Salts 1 (J Cunnington); Huddersfield YMCA 2, Lower Hopton 4; Littletown 0, Storthes Hall 3 (L Robertson 2, G Armitage); Tyersal 2 (M Davey, R Wood), Hunsworth 3 (L Barker 2, L Brook).
